TOP JOBS

I went surfing this morning and found this bit of info:

Job satisfaction

Across all occupations, on average 47 percent of those surveyed said they were satisfied with their jobs and 33 percent reported being very happy.

Here are the Top 10 most gratifying jobs and the percentage of subjects who said they were very satisfied with the job:

Clergy—87 percent percent
Firefighters—80 percent percent
Physical therapists—78 percent percent
Authors—74 percent
Special education teachers—70 percent
Teachers—69 percent
Education administrators—68 percent
Painters and sculptors—67 percent
Psychologists—67 percent
Security and financial services salespersons—65 percent
Operating engineers—64 percent
Office supervisors—61 percent

... and look at the top of the list. It speaks for itself. Life is so much more gratifying when you follow God's will.

Yes, as soon as I read number one (Clergy - or Full Tim eMinistry I'd prefer here) I thought about how satisfying it is to those who are called. They can continue in face of criticism and hardships, simply knowing God said they had to! Where as in other jobs that aren't necessarily a "God "Called" one, when the going gets tough, it's easier to leave a position and try something new. Not to say that no matter what kind of job we have, we should make sure we are in God's will, but that is entirely different than having tha special call of God on your life to Minister as a vocation. Did that make sense?
