Well, today I am another year older. I get to work @ 4 am today instead of 5:30 am. I am going to breakfast with my friend, walking partner and preacher's wife, Mrs. Loretta Riffe.
So, I will be working until 8 am, taking off for a couple of hours and back to work by 10 am. Oh! the wonders of working at home.

Then this afternoon, I am going to have my yearly mammogram and chest xray done.

Tomorrow starts my PTO - paid time off- it really isn't called vacation anymore. I have my pre op for my surgery on the 2nd. After pre op testing, I am going to the Strawberry Festival. This starts on 3/1 and lasts through 3/11. I won't be able to have that much physical activity for the first week after surgery so I won't be able to go any other day.

Then, 3/12 I am so lucky to have won the Jury Duty Lottery. I got to serve about 2 years ago and it was interesting. I just hope I don't have to sit all day. I am not used to being dressed by 8 am and driving that early in the morning for work!

Pray
for Grace as she gets closer to going to England.
for my surgery.

Prayer Requests

Pray for:

Jackie, Brian, & Elena McCobb: Jackie & Brian have dengue. Jackie is pregnant. They are missionaries to Paraquay.

Mary Todd: She is in an assistant living center.

Margie Chambers (my cousin): She fell as she was leaving the fair on Monday (she worked in the ticket booth) and hit both knees (they need to be replaced anyway and she has arthritis in them too), scraped her hands and hit her head. She didn't break anything but is really sore.

They found her neighbor on the floor, she had a stroke. I don't know her name, but please pray for her.

Grace's "uncle" had a stroke. Pray for his recovering and salvation for him and his whole family.

Grace's trip to England. I know that God has something great for her. If anyone wants to donate to her trip, you can send it to me or Smyrna Baptist Church. If you send the check, it may be best to make it out to me, I will deposit in my account and transfer the funds to her account. That is the way we have to do things because she didn't leave deposit slips for her account.

Here's the Scoop

Garage sale went well. Grace got some extra money for her trip to England. I put most of the profit from the gargae sale in her England trip box at church.

Mrs. Riffe and I started walking the park on Tuesday. Yes, that is a different day because everyone starts a new routine on Monday. Monday was less than 50 degrees outside and it was just too cold. We have walked 2 days in a row so far and plan on continuing it as much as possible. I bought myself a really nice pin striped suit and I can wear the jacket but the skirt will not let me breathe in it. So instead of ordering the next size up, I am concentrating on losing the 50 pounds I gained after my father died. Besides, the more I walk the better I feel. I need to get the fresh air. Once I can walk a little more and get familiar with the park then maybe my dog can go with me. I just I will have to use him as weights though because I will probably have to carry him most of the way.

Going to a celebration at Busch Gardens tonight. I volunteered for the United Way Day of Caring last year and the United Way is hosting a thank you celebration. I thought it would be fun.

Gall bladder surgery is scheduled for 3/2/07. Pre op is on 3/1/07 @ 8 am. I am going to go to the Strawberry Festival after pre op. I won't be able to go after my surgery because the Strawberry Festival is only from 3/1-3/11.

A.S.A.P.

There's work to do, deadlines to meet;
You've got no time to spare,
But as you hurry and scurry-
ASAP - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER

In the midst of family chaos,
"Quality time" is rare.
Do your best; let God do the rest-
ASAP - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER.

It may seem like your worries
Are more than you can bear.
Slow down and take a breather-
ASAP - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER

God knows how stressful life is;
He wants to ease our cares,
And He'll respond to all your needs
A.S.A.P. - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER.

Oh, NO! I did this twice in one day (blogging). Shock!Shock! But this one was sent to me via email from my cousin who forwarded to me because someone sent this to someone who sent this to someone, who sent this to someone else, who sent it to her... You know how email chains are. I was supposed to send it to 4 people that I wanted to bless. We are blessed everyday, not when someone sends you an email, aren't we?

Well, I decided to be different (like I am supposed to be) and send it to everyone in my email addresses and then post it on my blog. I don't know who the earthly author may be but it is inspiring.

YARD SALE!!!

I am going in with Diane and Sarah on their yard sale tomorrow. It will be in Twelve Oaks, 7503 Amber Ct. Call me if you need directions.

I am getting rid of a lot of yard tools- a few shovels, rakes, a weed-eater, power tools,4 buckets of plumbing parts, couple of buckets of nails, bolts, screws, fasteners and other miscellaneous thngs. Most of what I am getting rid of shed stuff. It won't be used by me but some gentleman may need them to work on the yard, home repairs, etc.

I do have a few items that are geared for the ladies-books, mostly biographies, a few pieces of Party lite candle party items, a pair of sconces and some costume jewlery.

Saw the Dartts last night and had some great fellowship. Last time I saw them, Daddy went with me. He fell asleep (his pain killers were kicking in) during "God on the mountain". So when they sang that I cried (did you expect anything else?).

Time to work. Will let you know later how the garage sale turned out. Part of the money I make is going to fund spending money for Grace's England trip.

Grace

Everyone asked about Grace.
She went to the dr. yesterday and has the flu along with bronchitis. Dr. ordered bed rest and said she could return to school on Wednesday. She is off from work on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays so she won't have to go back to work until Friday night.

Apparently, this flu has hit everyone hard everywhere. My aunt's nursing home and Mrs. Todd's (one of the ladies at church) nursing home was quarantined. Also, Grace said her whole dorm room has it and she feels like she is in a hospital ward.

I told her to open the dorm room window a little bit during the day to get the bad germs out.

She sounded a little better yesterday. Her RA took her to the walk in clinic and took her to Walmart to get the RX filled and get extra sick day supplies - crackers, juice, diet sprite, cough drops, tissues etc. She put her phone and computer on their charges and turned them off.

Of course, I also had to send a care package - chicken soup, easy mac, flu medicine, claritin, honey grahams, crackers, pineapple tidbits (canned) snack bars and some rice krispy treats with chocolate and peanut butter. The easy mac and the rice krispy treats are comfort food for when she feels better.

well, computer is back up have to go back to work. ta-ta

go to http://home.verizon.yahoo.com/

there is a short video of B. Obama (sounds too close to Osama to me!). He is defending his pot smoking (he inhaled!) and cocaine use. He also went on to say that he was tempted to try heroin and when he was confronted with that, he said but I was only considering it, never did it.

Now, basically (it seems to me) that he wants to be a role model for the younger people of today.

Whatever happened to role models like George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan? or what about Mr. Donald Harritan (my high school History teacher) or Miss Combs (my 2nd grade teacher who made me want to teach) or Sarah Anderson (who gave my daughter a passion for teaching) or Jack and Loretta Riffe, Dr. Lee Robertson, Dr. Raymond Barber, Bruce and Reva Turner and yes, even Kenny Baldwin. What is wrong with those role models?

They aren't the most famous of the world but I would rather pattern my life after them. At least they don't have to defend their prior drug use.

Now, I am done. I have to jump off my soapbox. I have to be careful, though. I am a little higher up on that soapbox than I am used to being.

Monday, Monday

Well, while a wait on my work computer to load info. I will give you a brief update.

I walked 2 miles in the American Diabetes Association Walk on the Wild Side at Lowry Park Zoo. It was 2 trips around the zoo and I walked with some of my co workers and didn't even feel it. I felt so good that I had to go to the Florida State Fair.
When I went to the fair, I went to Cracker Country and got to look at Florida history. I know everything about that area but I don't get bored with it because it is still intriguing. I sat for almost an hour in the little church and listened to the gospel quartet sing some really good hymns. I sang along and even took a video on my phone to watch later. It only records 15 seconds at a time but that is a good memory. I got some kettle corn and some pork rinds and sat at the picnic table and ate my kettle corn and enjoyed the day. I then went to the main attraction......

FAIR FOOD!!!!

I ate:
a corndog
steak on a stick
Turkey leg (well, I took that home).

I then went looking at the exhibits in the buildings. I saw all the winning flowers, crafts and wood furniture. They are awesome. One of the people make a doll house that had been framed only. That was neat! I then went to the building where the Crafts are and bought a really nice plaque that says stress less, pray more. What a message!

Pray for Grace, she has the flu. She missed church (both services) but she will be going to England soon. So pray she gets totally over this before leaving the US.

..and you ask where I have been

Well, I have my little man to take care of .. Spanky. He had an operation. Then he got FLEAS. That was fun, but I think I have them under control for now. I can't let him get sick from so many flea bites. He's just a little fellow.

I was sick. I had some sort of upper respiratory infection that required antibiotics. Finally, over that. I didn't want anyone to catch it so I haven't been around too many people or computers. LOL

My cousin, Margie came up from Sun City and helped me clean out the shed Saturday, January 27th. We had to get rid of a lot of stuff. It took about 4 hrs to look, move, decide and purge. We had about 14 lawn bags full of stuff that we put out for the trash. I still have paint cans to take to the dump and some yard tools, hand tools, nut, bolts, screws, nails, plumbing parts, etc. to take to Diane's house for her yard sale on February 17th from 7-1. I also have a gas grill that I need to get rid of. Anyone interested?

This past Saturday, I sold Daddy's boat. It was really bittersweet. Sometimes in life we have something just to say I have this or that. A boat is one of those things. The couple that bought it are really nice people. He is ex Navy, she is a lawyer and they have 2 beautiful children. I didn't get to talk to them enough to find out if they were saved, but the children were very well behaved and mom only had to tell them once to do something and the children didn't whine when they were told to do it, either. Dad got a little upset when the little boy got dirt in his truck but Mom said that is ok and went and cleaned it out and everything was ok. They said that when they take the boat out the first time they will only drink Pepsi (my daddy's favorite drink) for him. I told them to make beautiful memories and to enjoy the boat.

Grace is going to England with the Choir. AMEN!!!
Pray for her trip.
Also, pray for a friend of ours. She doesn't show any sign of salvation, neither does any of her family. Grace found out last night that they are divorcing after 20 years of marriage. Pray first for their salvation, then for their family.

Well, let's see... is there anything else I can say. Not right now, have to go back to work.
