Pray for the Braddock Family

This is what is left of the vehicle that my dear friend Diane Braddock and her family own. Her husband, Scott and children, Katie and Zack were on Morris Bridge Road (Morris Bridge is a two lane country road in Northeastern Hillsborough County), traveling about 50 miles per hour, when a Saturn crossed into his lane from the other side of the road. This is the end result of the accident. Scott and the children had to be airlifted to St. Joseph's hospital. Zack suffered a bruised lung, ribs and has a really nasty seat belt bruise on his chest that Diane is majorly concerned about. Katie has a swollen ankle and is on crutches. I don't have too much information on Scott. But all 3 are home and are really bruised, scrapped and very traumatized. You see, the other driver died in this accident, which is what is very upsetting to them.
Also, if Diane would have been with them, she would have been sitting in the passengar seat. Now, you say what passenger seat. It looks like from the picture that the whole passenger side is missing.

Praise God that no one else was hurt and please pray for this family. They need a lot of prayer. Mostly for strength to get through all the loose ends that has to be tied up because of the accident and for healing - emotionally and physically.

Also, prayer for the other driver's family as they pick up the pieces of this most unfortunate accident and their salvation- which is first and formost.

...And for anyone who has to travel any two lane country road/highway please, please be careful out there. Before you leave, buckle your seatbelt and PRAY before you put the key in the ignition.

...and remember GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME!!!!!!

This one's for Pam!!

I am still alive, just lurking on the blogs. I haven't had a lot of time to do much of anything except housework, grocery shop and work. I did go see a few movies this summer.

1. Shrek the 3rd- I thought it was pretty good. You have to enjoy the other 2 to get this one.

2. Pirates of the Caribbean 3- I didn't see one. I didn't care for 2 - I fell asleep before the movie and woke up about the time they showed Davy Jones for the first time. YUCK !!! So I wasn't impressed by 3. From what I understand, 2 and 3 were filmed at the same time, so the plot from 2 carried on through 3, which is what I think a sequel should do.

3. Gracie- this is a good wholesome movie. Grace and I really liked it. The main character in the movie is called (guess what?....) Gracie. Her full name is Gracie Bowen. Which was really weird... Just like when I went to see We are Marshall. I didn't know Bobby Bowden had been a coach anywhere else but The Florida State Seminoles and then during the movie I found out he was once the coach of UWV.

More summer movies I want to see:

License to Wed

There are more but I can't think of the names right no

Last week was very busy..
1. went to Bible School on Thursday night. Shane who was in my Sunday School class wanted to win a chalk picture from Bible School so he invited his grandmother, Sarah Padgett and me to his church for the last night of Bible School. The Arnolds did the Bible School and what a fantastic job they did. I really felt like a kid again when Mrs. Arnold led the singing, did the puppet show and taught the lesson. It was so amazing to watch Mr. Arnold draw his chalk picture. WOW! The Lord has given him an awesome talent.

Then Sarah, Mrs. Riffe and I went to Cracker Barrel for a late supper for them and a midnight snack for me (I am usually in bed by the time we ate. I had a vegetable plate - turnip greens, green beans, pinto beans and cottage cheese. I also had enough points for a biscuit. WOOHOO!!!!!

2. Worked 50 hours last week. I am tired. I finally got the laundry done. Well, at least Grace's is done. I have to dry my dark clothes. I wash them separately because I don't want to confuse the clothes. A lot of the tank tops that are mine look like Grace's.

3. Did get the stove cleaned today. I have a flat top stove and I used an old pan and something was on the bottom of the old pan and it got onto my stove top and I had to scrub it with a Mr. Clean magic eraser to get rid of it.

4. I made visitation both days- Monday and Saturday. Saturday morning, we went door knocking, it was my first time last Saturday with Grace. I went this Saturday and usually I am the silent partner, well not today. I actually talked to (I think) 4 people. I am usually pretty shy until you get to know me. So, that was a leap of faith.

5. Today I am going to a Mary Kay Party that Sarah is giving.

School starts 1 week from Wednesday, I am excited but nervous. I know that God led me to do this and God will get me through. I just pray that I can be a real testimony through all of this.

Spanky's first Birthday

Ok, I went overboard and took an official birthday portrait.
I can't take picture of my baby anymore because she isn't a baby anymore.
I covered the chair in the living room with a red blanket. Made a party hat out of a gift bag that I carefully took apart and shaped like a cone. Threw his blue bone dog toy on the chair so he would go get it. Posed him and took pictures. I wanted the hat on his head but I couldn't torture him anymore than I did.

What's new!!

Lost 12 pounds total...8 more to go and I will have to buy new clothes. Well, maybe not outer garments if you know what I mean!

Getting ready for school on 6/27.

Went to a Mother Daughter Tea - first time I have ever borrowed dishes from anyone.
My cousin Margie went and they were her dishes. This is the first time she has ever heard Grace sing. She said wow, what a powerful voice. I smiled and said yes, she did spend that money on the singing lessons, instead of candy.

I have been keeping in touch and reading everyones blog. I am a lurker. Too busy trying to work 50 hrs a week, go to Weight Watchers and keep up with the house. Not to mention church, which doesn't count in my hectic life because it is a time of relaxation. I hope that came out right. I have a weird way of saying things sometimes.

Here is what I have done on line here lately:

I'm terza rima, and I talk and smile.
Where others lock their rhymes and thoughts away
I let mine out, and chatter all the while.

I'm rarely on my own - a wasted day
Is any day that's spent without a friend,
With nothing much to do or hear or say.

I like to be with people, and depend
On company for being entertained;
Which seems a good solution, in the end.

I am the sonnet, never quickly thrilled;
Not prone to overstated gushing praise
Nor yet to seething rants and anger, filled
With overstretched opinions to rephrase;
But on the other hand, not fond of fools,
And thus, not fond of people, on the whole;
And holding to the sound and useful rules,
Not those that seek unjustified control.
I'm balanced, measured, sensible (at least,
I think I am, and usually I'm right);
And when more ostentatious types have ceased,
I'm still around, and doing, still, alright.
In short, I'm calm and rational and stable -
Or, well, I am, as much as I am able.
