My current events

I haven't posted in a while. Been too busy to type.

Here's what is happening...

1. My pastor had another heart procedure. GOD is good.
I have adopted the song just for him:
It’s just like Jesus to roll the clouds away,
It’s just like Jesus to keep me day by day,
It’s just like Jesus all along the way,
It’s just like His great love
Even to think of the words, it gets stuck in my head. That is a happy tune!

2. We survived another hurricane/tropical storm or big wind. We were supposed to get it but it missed us by THAT MUCH. Keep praying that the storm will give the much needed rain to the areas that need it and it doesn't damage too many homes and people are safe.
God's so good. (makes me think of another song...

God's so good to give us some many blessing, undeserving that's what we are.
I want to thank him, love and praise him a little more today and a whole lot more tomorrow.

Do you reckon I can combine the two songs and get them both stuck in my head at the same time? I love both of these songs.

3. Getting ready for our trip to NC labor day weekend.

4. Orientation at my daughter's new school.

5. My trip to NM in October. I am nervous but excited.

6. My diet. I have lost 14# in 3 weeks, another 46 to go until I met the goal I have with my doctor. Thank you God. My blood sugar is doing really well and I have almost been able to take my insulin every other day instead of every day. My doctor wants me to continue every day instead of skipping a day. She would rather lower the dosage first. Makes sense though.
Hopefully, by the time I lose the weight I need to lose, I will be just controlling my diabetes with just my diet and exercise instead of pills or shots. You know the saying, once a diabetic ALWAYS a diabetic. Your symptoms can go away but not the disease, especially as you get older and your body changes or you don't follow your prescribed diet as you should. I have found that if I follow my diet strictly, I can control my blood sugar but when I go through a drive through restaurant and choose the wrong thing (anything with bread) my blood sugar is out of whack. I am looking to God for support and really prayed about this before I even started it. and really relying totally on him. I am also making this a total lifestyle change. When you think diet, you think about losing a few pounds and then going back to your bad habits. Just got to break that.

7. This is exciting. Thank you Pam & Brenda Pasek for inviting me to be your friend through facebook. Because of that, I got to talk with one of my really good friends from high school Her name is Laura (Harrelson) Wicker and she is a nurse in Durham, NC. We have been talking via facebook's email. I gave her my blog address so she could catch up on my life. I will be in Wilmington, NC for labor day weekend and hopefully she can drive down there to meet up with me. I think it is about 3 or 4 hrs drive so I don't know if she can or not. That would be great. Once, she got in touch with me, I did a lot of reminiscing about high school and really missed our friendship.

8. My job responsibilities are a lot tougher than I thought they would be. It will be ok. Just need a lot of practice and patience. God will give me that.

Until next time,

See you in church on Sunday,
Remember to shake the preacher's hand,
DON"T FORGET TO VOTE... A vote for no one, means the wrong man will get in office
&
GOD SAVE AMERICA
